My journey with the Trails End Adventure Tank Bag began in March 2023 when I needed a tank bag for my first adventure bike, a 2023 Kawasaki KLR650. Impressed by its functionality, when my riding buddy, Mike, sought a tank bag, I quickly recommended the same.
Our real test came in December of 2023 during an off-road ride in Ocala, Florida. Ocala is known for its challenging sugar sand riding and is referred to as “the sandbox” by many adventure bike riders. Mike’s KLR, in a moment of surrender to the sandy terrain, took a brief nap. The aftermath revealed a damaged Trails End Adventure Tank Bag hanging a little off-kilter by three straps. Undeterred, we improvised with a webbing strap, securing the bag by the carry handle to the crash bars, and completed a demanding 70-mile off-road ride.
Rigg Gear is awesome. Broke my tank bag strap after wiping out hard in the sand. I called them up and they directed me to the website to fill out the warranty form. I was totally upfront that this was me putting the bag to the extreme and it was not really a defect. They didn’t care. I filled out one form sent a few pics and they emailed back within 24hrs. They only asked for one more pic of it destroyed (cutting the zipper top off). My new one is enroute. Couldn’t be happier.

Post-adventure, Mike contacted Nelson Rigg’s customer service to explore warranty options. Transparent about the circumstances, he explained it wasn’t a manufacturing flaw but a consequence of our “Hard Riding” style. Nelson Rigg’s customer service representative directed him to their online warranty claim page. After submitting the required information and photos, Mike received prompt approval for a replacement. The only catch—they requested a photo of the tank bag irreversibly destroyed. This entire warranty process was conducted remotely without the need to mail in the damaged product for “evaluation”.
